    Location
    ( GV-19 Behind the Crown HOUDING - Acupuncture Points ) On the midline, 3 cun superior to GV-17 (directly superior to the external occipital protuberance) or 1.5 cun posterior to GV-20.

    How to find
    This point is best located by using --GV-20 as a reference point (at the junction of the vertical midline and a line connecting the apices of the ears). GV-19 can then be located by palpating  1.5 cun in a posterior direction from GV-20. Or: First, locate --GV-17 superior the external occipital protuberance, then locate GV-19 on the midline, 3 cun superior to -- GV-17.

    Needling
    Transversely (subcutaneously) 0.5–1 cun.

    Calms the shen
