Many people like foot massage because there are many benefits to foot massage. But do you really know about foot massage? Here we introduce you some common knowledge of foot massage.

1. The sequence of foot massage
If it is a massage of the entire foot, start from the left foot and then to the right foot. When massaging, you should first press the sole of the foot, from the inside of the sole to the outside, and then the instep. After the foot massage is completed, then massage the points on the calf. When massaging the sole of the foot, start with the basic reflex zone and then the lesion reflex zone. For the corresponding points of the kidney, ureter and bladder reflex zone, massage stimulation is required first to stimulate the excretory system, and then massage the corresponding reflex zones of the heart, stomach and spleen.

2. Force of Massage
It takes a certain amount of force to massage the foot and the force should not be too light. When you have a feeling of soreness during the massage, the force used at this time is more appropriate. In addition, the intensity and rhythm of the massage should be uniform, and it should not be light, heavy, and slow. If you are a physically strong person, you can ask to add a little more force; but if you are a weak person, the force should be moderated.

3. Foot massage time
The control of foot therapy time is also very particular. In general, the massage time is preferably controlled in 30 to 40 minutes. People who are seriously ill are more likely to be controlled for 10 to 20 minutes. For people with chronic conditions, they can have a foot treatment every other day or twice a week.

4. Cautions
It is not advisable to have a foot massage within 1 hour after a meal. During the massage process, the legs should not be directly exposed to the wind, and for wounds and abscesses, care should be taken to avoid them. Once the skin becomes red and swollen, stop the massage immediately. After the massage is over, you cannot immediately wash your feet with cold water. In addition, after half an hour of massage, it is best to drink 300 to 500 ml of warm boiled water.
