(1) Decoct Chencandou ( Semen Viciae Fabae, longstocked) 120 g with 90g of brown sugar in 2,000 ml of clean water in a pottery pot on a slow fire to obtain 400 ml of the decoction, and take the decoction as a daily drink.This is indicated for chronic nephritis with edema.
(2) Mix a cup of fresh celery juice with an appropriate amount of honey and take the juice twice daily. This is indicated for chronic nephritis marked by edema and high blood pressure.
(3) Decoct Yumixu (Stylus Zeae Maydis) 60 g in water, and take the decoction daily for six consecutive months. This is indicated for chronic nephritis marked by edema and preteinuria.
(4) First decoct Zhiguiban (Plastrum Testudinis,roasted) 30 g for an hour, then add
Radix Astragali (Huangqi) 30 g and
Rhizoma Dioscoreae (Shanyao) 30 g to decoct for another 40 minutes, then take the decoction in 2 divided doses. This is indicated for chronic nephritis characterized by edema due to deficiency of the spleen and kidneys.
(5) Decoct Wubeizi ( Galla Chinensis ) 5 g and Qianshi (Semen Euryales) 10 g in water, and take the decoction daily. This is indicated for proteinuria due to kidney defficiency and emission of semen.
(6) Decoct
Rhizoma Bletillae (Baiji) 10 g and Oujie (Nodus Nelumbinis Rhizomatis ) 10 g in water, and take the decoction daily. This is indicated for hematuria due to blood stasis and collateral injuries.
