[Location] Localized in the erect sitting position or in the supine position, on the medial aspect of the knee, when the knee is flexed, the point is in the depression on the medial end of the transverse popliteal crease, on the posterior border of the medial entepicondyle of the femur, on the anterior portion of the insertion of m. semitendinosus and m. semimembranosus. [Regional Anatomy] Skin→subcutaneous tissue→the posterior border of sartorius→the posterior border of the tendon of gracilis muscle→the tendon of semimenbranosus→the medial head of gastrocnemius. Superficial layer, the saphenous nerve and the greater saphenous vein; deep layer, the branches or the subordiantial ramus of the arterise and veins on the medial aspect of knee.
