Acupuncture Extra Point Jinjin (EX-HN12)
Location:
Proper sitting with one's back propped, open one's mouth, roll up one's tip of tongue to make it posteriorly, bit by the upper and lower of incisor teeth of patient and the sublingual vein shows; at the midpoint of the sublingual vein, Jinjin point on the left side and Yuye point on the right side.

Function:
Regulating the flow of qi and relieving disorders of the mouth and tongue.

Regional Anatomy:
Mucosa-submucous tissue-gemoglossus muscle.
There are the gnathic nerve from the mandibular nerve, the hypoglossal nerve, the nervous fibres of the tympanic cord from the facial nerve, the deep lingual artery of the lingual artery and the deep lingual veins to the lingual vein in this area.

Indications:
Swelling of the tongue, tonsillitis, Diabetes, vomiting, and aphasia with stiffness of tongue.

Prescription:
Combined use with ShaoshangLU11 (Shaoshang (LU11) Jing-Well Point) for treatment of tonsillitis; with ChengjiangCV24 (Acupuncture Single Point Chengjiang (CV24)) for treatment of diabetes; and with ChangqiangGV1 (Changqiang (GV 1) Luo-Connecting Point) for treatment of aphthosis.
