Acupuncture Point Jimen (SP11)
Location:
Upright sitting with flexed and slightly parted knees;on the medial border of sartorius muscle, 6 cun above XuehaiSP10 (Xuehai (SP10)).

Function:
Regulating Ying and Xue and inducing diuresis.

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-medial vastus muscle of thigh.
In the superficial layer, there are the anterior cutaneous branches of the femoral nerve and the tributaries of the great suphenous vein. In the deep layer, there are the femoral artery and vein, the saphenous nerve and the muscular branches of the femoral nerve.

Indications:
Dysuria, enuresis, pain and swelling in the inguinal region, muscular atrophy, motor impairment, pain and paralysis of the lower extremities.

Prescription:
Combined use with Shenshu (BL23) and Acupuncture Single Point Zhongji Front-Mu Point of the Bladder) for treatment of scrotum eczema; with Acupuncture Single Point Guanyuan Front-Mu Point of the SmallIntestine) for treatment of enuresis; and with Acupuncture Single Point Qihai for treatment of incontinence of urine.

Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly 0.3-0.5 cun deep; the needling response: local sensation of distension, radiating down to the foot or up to the upper leg; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
