Acupuncture Point Futu (ST32)
Location:
Sitting upright with flexed knees; press the midpoint of the upper border of knee-cap with the midpoint of the 1st palmar transverse stria, juxtapose finger side by side, the point where the
middle finger touches is FutuST32 (Futu (ST32)).

Function:
Strengthening the lumbar region and the knee, and regulating the flow of qi and blood.

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneoue tissue-rectus muscle of-thigh-intermediate vastus muscle of thigh.
In the superficial layer, there are the lateral femoral vein, the anterior cutaneous branches of the femoral nerve and the lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh. In the deep layer, there are the descending branches of the lateral circumflex artery and vein and the muscle branches of the fenotal nerve.

Indications:
Pain in the lumbar and iliac region, coldness of the knee, paralysis or motor impairment and pain of the lower extremities, and beriberi.

Prescription:
Combined use with HuantiaoGB30 (Huantiao (GB30 )) for treatment of paralysis of lower limb; with YanglingquanGB34 (Yanglingquan (GB34) He-Sea Point, Influential Point of Tendon) for treatment of arthritis.

Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly 1.0-1.5 cun deep; needling response: local sensation of distension; moxibustion: using 5-7 moxa-cones, mild moxibustion for 15 min.
