(1) Cutting and Cupping Therapy

Points: ① Dazhui (GV 14), Yaoqi and Dianxian [midway between Dazhui (GV 14) and the tip of coccyx, about the spinous process of the 11th thoracic vertebrael. ② Taodao (GV 13), Geshu (BL17) and Mingmen(GV4). ③ Ganshu(BL18), Shenzhu(GV 12) and Yaoyangguan (GV 3)

Technique: Apply one group of points each time, changing groups alternately. A lancet is used first to make a cut on the point 0.5 cm long, then the subcutaneous fiber tissues are pricked completely. Afterwards, cupping is applied over the pricked points five to 10 minutes, so that some blood is sucked out. After the cup is removed, sterilized gauze is applied over the point. The pricking treatment is performed once every week, and three sessions constitute one course.
