Cupping therapy contraindications

(1) For the patients who are prone to bleed, especially those who suffer from the diseases such as Purpura Haemorrhagica, Leukemia, Hemophilia, capillary fragility test positive and so on, cupping should be cautiously used.

(2) The damaged site of dermatogic disease, contagious skin disease, serious skin allergies, and part fester.

(3) To the part of acute soft tissue injury, cupping should be forbidden.

(4) For those suffering Trauma, fractures and varicose veins, the projection of vessel surface, the site of apex beat, the scars should not be cupped.

(5) For women who are pregnant, lower abdomen, lumbosacral area, breast and other points as well as hegu, sanyinjiao, kunlun should not be cupped.

(7) Extreme weakness and thinness of the body, skin without flexibility and parts of hairiness should not be cupped.

(8) The mental disorders, especially those experiencing the period of phrenoplegia, and people who suffer the manic unrest and tetanus, rabies and other convulsive diseases should not be cupped.

(9) People who suffer from the malignant tumors should not be cupped.

(10) People who suffer the diseases as evere edema, moderate or severe heart disease, heart failure, cirrhosis and ascites of the liver should not be cupped.

(11) Postive tuberculosis sufferers, especially the abdomens of these sufferers, should not be cupped.

(12) People who are drunk, excessively hungry or full, overtired should not be cupped.
