Treatment Based on Syndrome Differentiation:
1. Syndrome of Excessive Heat in the Lung and Stomach
Main Symptoms: It is mostly seen in the erythema stage, manifested by erythema often on the nose tip or two wings, color subsided by pressure, alcoholic, constipation, improper food intake, dry mouth, thirst, reddened tongue, thin and yellowish coating, wiry and slippery pulse.
Therapeutic Methods: Clear away accumulated heat from the lung and stomach.

2. Syndrome of Heat-Toxin Accumulating in the Skin
Main Symptoms: It is mostly seen in the papule stage, manifested by acneform papules and pustules on erythema, obvious telangiectasis, burning sensation in the local area, dry mouth, constipation, crimson tongue and yellowish coating.
Therapeutic Methods: Cool blood, clear away heat and dissolve toxin.

3.  Qi-Stagnation and Blood.Stasis Syndrome
Main Symptoms: It is mostly seen in the rhinophyma stage, manifested by hyperplasia of the nasal tissue in form of nodes, enlarged hair pores, dark red tongue, deep and slow pulse.
Therapeutic Methods: Activate blood, disperse stagnation and dissipate nodes.

Caution: It is advisable to avoid irritating foods of spicy cuisine and alcoholic drinks and to drink less strong tea and to take bland diet. For those with constipation, it is necessary to take vegetables and fruits to maintain smooth defecation. For those with dry stool, it is requested to take drugs for regulation. It is suggested to wash face with water in proper temperature in the ordinary times and to avoid cold water irritation and unclean things on the nose. Before external application of the drugs, it is necessary to clean the infected area with warm water and dry it, to maintain a happy mood and avoid anger.
