Dietetic Chinese Drugs for Pulmonary Tuberculosis

1) Abalone (Caro Haliotidis)
Cook a dish with just the right amount of abalone and take it daily with bread (or cooked rice).  It's applicable to the type of disease due to deficiency of the lung-yin.

2) Silkworm chrysalis (Larva Bombycis)
Have silkworm chrysalis baked dry and ground into fine powder.  Take 2 to 3g of it at a time, twice a day (the powder should be kept dry, it would be best to preserve the powder in capsules). It is applicable to the disease due to deficiency of the lung-qi and the spleen-qi.

3) Otter liver (Jecur Lutrae Lutrae)
Have otter liver baked and ground into fine powder. Take 3g of it at a time, twice a day, with rice or millet water.  It is applicable to the disease belonging to the type of deficiency of the lung-q/and the spleen-qi.

4) Sheep (or Goat) gallbladder (Fel Ovis)
Have several sheep (or goat) gallbladders washed clean, baked dry and ground into fine powder.  Take 0.5g of it at a time, three times a day. As to of the course of treatment, there is no limit. It is applicable to the cases of deficiency of the lung-yin.

5) Aquiline-mouthed tortoise 
Get an aquiline-mouthed tortoise of about 250g in weight and remove the shell andinternal organs; cut it into cubes and stew it to make soup. It is applicable to cases of deficiency of both the lung-qi and the lung-yin.

6) Eel (Anguilla Japonica)
Have several eels parched till their outer parts become yellowish brown so that their original property is retained, and-ground into fine powder. Take 5g of it at a time, twice a day. There is no limit to the course of treatment. It is applicable to the disease belonging to the type of insufficiency of the lung-qi and lung-yin.
