Dog Meat Soup for Promoting Yang

INGREDIENTS
Prepared aconite root, Radix Aconiti (Chuanwu)  (cut into slices)  15g
Dodder seed, Semen Cuscutae  10g
Dog meat   250g
Salt, gourmet powder, freth ginger, scallion (just the right amount for each)

PROCESS: Have the dog meat washed clean, put it as one piece into a pot with boiling water and quick-boil it through; take it out and put it into cold water to remove the blood froth; and cut it into cubes. Cut fresh ginger and scallion into slices; stirfry the dog meat in an aluminium pan together with ginger slices; pour it into an earthenware pot after adding cooking wine; meanwhile, put the dodder seeds and the prepared aconite roots slices in a gauze bag and tie it up; put the bag together with salt and scallion into the earthenware pot; add just the right amount of clear soup which is heated to boiling point over a strong fire, then, change to stewing it on a low fire until the dog’s meat is thorougnly done. Add gourmet powder before eating.

DIRECTIONS: Eat the meat and drink the soup; it can be taken with bread or cooked rice.

EFFICACY: Warming the kidney, recuperating the kidney-yang and replenishing the essence to nourish the marrow.

INDICATIONS: Deficiency of yang and qi, marked by listlessness, lassitude in the loins and knees, etc.

PRECAUTIONS: Those who suffer from deficiency of yin are prohibited to take it.
