Are there any home remedy for hepatomegaly(enlarged liver)

"Hepatic" refers to the liver and "megaly" refers to an increase in size. Hepatomegaly is a medical term which means an increase in the size of the liver.

The liver is situated in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen. It is a very vital organ in the human body. It is responsible for the digestion of fats (broken down by bile secreted by liver cells), storage of glucose in the form of glycogen and metabolism of the pharmaceutical drugs that we consume.

The factors that affect the size of the liver are age, gender, body weight and body shape. A liver that is 3 centimeters larger or smaller is still considered normal. If enlarged beyond the normal limits, it is good to get a medical evaluation done to find the underlying cause.

Diseases that cause the liver to get enlarged have to be treated immediately since they interfere with the liver’s functionality.

Consume long brinjal (eggplant) that helps in stimulating the inactive cells of liver.

2 grams of Sprague and ? gram of rock salt are mixed and consumed twice daily.
Sugar mixed in spearmint juice should be consumed regularly for about ten days.

Orange juice should be consumed empty stomach to reactivate lost functioning of liver.

Consume half a cup of bathu (chenopodium album) juice seasoned with salt to make liver healthy.

Karela (bitter gourd) is also helpful in reducing the size of liver and spleen to normal.

Papaya is another remedy which helps in treating hepatomegaly.
