Eczema is a chronic skin disease that is very uncomfortable, but not contagious. It tends to show up on elbows, knees and wrists, and may be triggered by allergies. People suffering from dermatitis/eczema are sensitive to some of the items listed above and should be mindful of their condition and avoid contact with any irritant. Prolonged exposure to the materials may worsen the symptoms and cause the dermatitis to spread.

Another type of eczema called atopic dermatitis (AD) affects the face, elbows and knees it's extremely itchy. Also nummular dermatitis attacks arms and legs and produces circular lesions caused by contact with nickel.

Natural home remedies
Add 1 tsp camphor to 1 teaspoon sandalwood paste and apply on the affected eczema areas. We've been told that eating raw potatoes-at least two a day-has worked miracles in clearing up eczema. Be sure the potatoes are thoroughly cleaned and scrubbed. If you don't see an improvement after a couple of weeks (or if you start to get sick of eating raw potatoes!), try something else. Apply a teaspoon of sandalwood paste mixed with a teaspoon of camphor to the affected areas. Rub a nutmeg against a smooth stone slab with a little water and make a paste. Apply to affected eczema area.

Brew Up a Batch
Every morning and night, mix a few tablespoons of brewer's yeast with water, enough to from a paste that will cover the affected area. Gently apply it and leave it on until it dries out and crumbles off.
