Western Han Dynasty
Unearthed at Han tomb no.1,Mawangdui,Changsha,Hunan Province in 1972.The cover is made of woven bamboo strips.Fine silk is glued over it to facilitate even dispersion of the incense smoke.Clothes may have been placed on the pot for fumigation.When excavated,the censer held traces of Rhizoma Ganlangae,Flos Magnoliae,and Rhizoma et Radix Ligustici.
