Fu Shan(1607-1684), styled Qingzhu, a renowned physician, poet, painter, and calligrapher, was a native of Yangqu (now Taiyuan, Shanxi Province). He studied the Confucian classics in preparation for the examinations, and at the age of 13 was named a National University Student. After the overthrow of the Ming Dynasty he did not again seek office. He had a profound knowledge of ancient and modern classical literature.  He wrote many medical works, of which Women's disorder. (Nv ke) and Men's disorders (Nan he ) are best known.
