    Put one palm or one finger belly on the diseased part, and gently and slowly stroke it in linear or circular movement. It is also called superficial stroke manipulation, being generally taken at the beginning or the end of tendon-smoothing manipulation. It has the action of removing stasis and diminishing congestion, tranquilizing the mind and stopping pain, and relieving muscular tension as well.
