Lung meridian of hand-taiyin originates from middle energizer and absorbs qi of liver meridian of foot-jueyin. Arising from middle energizer, it is distributed over large intestine from below, passing through cardia of stomach and disphragmatic muscle above, it is distributed over lung. Another branch is distributed over heart; the trunk is distributed over throat along two sides of trachea upward, forking lateral side of the first rib from posterior branch of collarbone, turning downward to the anterior oxter and circling medial radius side of upper arm, running down elbow joint and its medial radius side to wrist radius side and circling radius side of thumb then reaching tips of thumb.

A branch of lung meridian of hand-taiyin behind wrist goes lateral side of radius, coming through radius styloid process of wrist, the first and second metacarpus, getting along radius side of first finger and reaching tip of first finger where large intestine meridian of hand-yangming is associated with qi of large intestine meridian of hand-yangming.

Collaterals of lung meridian of hand-taiyin:
Collaterals of lung meridian of hand-taiyin originates from 1.5 inch posterior to transverse striation of wrist –Lieque acupoint of lateral side of radius of lung meridian of hand-taiyin. Where forking two branches, the first branch arising from Lieque acupoint comes across and is associated with large intestine meridian of hand-yangming that is in dorsal side of forearm and becomes gangway of meridians in internal and external relation. The second branch goes down lung meridian of hand-taiyin and is distributed over thenar eminence (abductor pollicis brevis and flexor pollicis brevis area).

Divergent collateral of lung meridian of hand-taiyin:
Forking from anterior oxter of lung meridian of hand-taiyin, divergent collateral of lung meridian of hand-taiyin goes up lung meridian of hand-taiyin into chest and is distributed over lung; it goes down meridian of hand-taiyin, crosses disphragmatic muscle and is distributed over large intestine. Forking from lung, Divergent collateral of lung meridian of hand-taiyin goes upward and comes out from supraclavicular fossa, following trachea and throat into mandible and connecting with large intestine meridian of hand-yangming, it forms the second gangway of meridians in internal and external relationship.

Divergent collateral of lung meridian of hand-taiyin goes along with lung meridian of hand-taiyin and is distributed over lung and large intestine, such a connection in parallel enforces relationship between lung meridian of hand-taiyin and two viscus organs. Divergent collateral of lung meridian of hand-taiyin is associated with large intestine meridian of hand-yangming at mandible and forms the second gangway of intercommunion between lung meridian of hand-taiyin and large intestine meridian of hand-yangming, (the first gangway see collateral distribution above) so it becomes the six combination in "six combinations".
