Acupuncture Point Binao (LI14)
Location:
Hang down one's arm with flexed elbow; on the line connecting JianyuLI15 (Jianyu (LI15)) and QuchiLI11 (Quchi (LI11) He-Sea Point), at the lower end of the m. deltoideus.

Function:
Clearing and activating the channels and collaterals, improving eyesight, dispersing the accumulation of lumps.

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-deltoid muscle.
In the superficial layer, there are the inferior and superior lateral cutaneous nerves of the arm. In the deep layer, there are the muscular branches of the brachial artery.

Indications:
Pain in the shoulder and arm, rigidity of the neck, scrofula.

Prescription:
Combined use with QuchiLI11 (LI11) and XuehaiSP10 (Xuehai (SP 10)) for treatment of urticaria; with QiangjianGV18 (Qiangjian (GV18)) for treatment of stiff neck; and with NaoshuSI10 (Naoshu (SI 10)) for treatment of impairment of movement of upper extremities.

Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly or obliquely upward 0.5-0.8 cun deep; needling response: local sensation of distension and soreness; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 15 min.
