Acupuncture, massage therapy for cerebral infarction

Health Description
Health Consultation Description: My 21 year old sister got cerebral infarction because she talked to father after 15 years and big emotions were involved. One of her pupils of the eye became larger and she could not see properly. Doctor has done CT and confirmed it was cerebral infarction. She is already fine for the moment, but I seek help for a second opinion. May this affect her in the future? What should be avoided? I guess contraception definitely. It happened for the first time. She takes medication for asthma and allergy, but not regularly.

Condition analysis:
As you mention that your 21 year old sister had cerebral infarction, she needs a full evaluation to search etiology of stroke in a young age of 21 (young stroke). As you say, her one pupil became large and she could not see properly, such symptom may suggest involvement of the optic nerve. It is usually very difficult to diagnose by CT scan and may need an MRI scan of the brain. I would suggest you to send all reports and also suggest for a full evaluation to diagnose the problem and accordingly further treatment can be planned. If she had confirmed cerebral infarction, she needs to be on regular blood thinners (antiplatelets or anticoagulants) and should avoid oral contraceptive medications, especially estrogens.

The Probable causes:
Still need further evaluation.

Investigations to be done:
MRI brain and orbits with contrast, also may need MRI spine with contrast, visual evoked potential, somatosensory evoked potential, ANA (antinuclear antibody), anti-dsDNA (anti-double stranded DNA), C-ANCA (cytoplasmic anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody), P-ANCA (perinuclear anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody).

Differential diagnosis:
1. Optic neuritis (cause to be looked for).
2. AION - acute ischemic optic neuropathy.

Instructions:
Chinese medicine compound salvia miltiorrhiza, sichuan dome lamictal, etc.At the same time complementary with acupuncture, massage therapy, etc.

Rehabilitation is one of the main foreign cerebrovascular disease treatment method, generally 3 ~ 7 days after onset and begin a systematic, standardized and individualized rehabilitation.
