Location: Throat, mouth, esophagus, stomach, and kidney areas, midline of palm, Taiyuan (LU9), Daling (PC7), endocrine area, stomach and intestine reflective point, heel reflective point, and Yangchi (TE4) acupoint.
  
Method of manipulation: Both hands are rubbed to produce a hot sensation. Heavy pressing, kneading and pinching maneuvers repeatedly applied along midline of palm; continuous digit-pressing maneuver at Taiyuan (LU9), Daling (PC7), endocrine area, stomach and intestine point, heel point, and Yangchi (TE4) in sequence.
  
Acupuncture therapy:

Location: Yangchi (TE4), Zhizheng (SI 7), Yuji (LU10)
  
Method of manipulation: The needles are vertically inserted for 1.6 cm and retained for 30 minutes.
  
At reflective points:
  
Location: Lung point, spleen point, and kidney point.
  
Method of manipulation: The needles are inserted for 1.6 cm and retained for five minutes after twisting, lifting, and thrusting stimulation.
  
At special acupoints beside the second metacarpal bone:
  
Location: Lung and heart acupoint, stomach acupoint, and kidney acupoint.
  
Method of manipulation: The needles are vertically inserted for 1.6 cm and retained for 20 minutes.
