Reflexology has a positive affect on diseases of prostate gland

Hyperplasia of the prostate gland and prostatitis are two major diseases of this gland. Male patients with hyperplasia of the prostate gland may suffer from dysuria, frequent urination at night, incomplete urination, fine urine streams, and auria and retention of urine accompanied by soreness and pain in waist and weakness of limbs. Dysuria and incomplete urination in middle- aged and older women may also be treated by the following methods.
   
Treatment:
Foot massage: The massage is applid to prostate gland (50), ureter (51), kidney (22), adrenal gland (21), urethra (23), urinary bladder (24), lymph nodes (abdomen, 40) and sacrum (56) reflecting areas (Fig. 102).
   
The foot massage is applied for 10 minutes and a good effect can be obtained after a treatment for 3 days, with a reduction of urination frequency and an increase of urine discharge. At the stone time, patients may be fatigued, but this may disappear after the condition is further improved. A buming cigarette can be used to do moxibustion at adrenal gland (21), reproductive gland (36), kidney (22), ureter (23), urinary bladder (24), lumbar spine (55) and sacrum (56) reflecting areas producing an apparent effect.
  
Foot acupuncture:
1) Meridianal acupoints: At Zhiyin (BL 67), Yongquan (KI 1), Dazhong (KI 4), Shuiquan (KI 5), Zhaohai (KI 6), Dadun (LR 1), Xingjian (LR2), Taichong (LR 3) and Zhongfeng (LR 4) acupoints, a balanced reinforce-reducing acupuncture technique is applied and the needles are retained for 20 minutes.

2) Extra acupoint: A balanced reinforce-reducing technique is applied at Quchi (LI 11) acupoint and the needle is retained for 30 minutes.

3) Foot acupoints: At Spleen (FA-P 10), Kidney (FA-P 14), Urinary bladder (FA-P 15) and Bed-wetting (FA-P 21) acupoints, a moderate acupuncture stimulation is applied and the needles are retained for 30 minutes.
