Health Consultation Description: My 71 year old mother just went to the ER tonight. For 3 days, she has had stomach pain, joint pain, back pain, nausea and vomiting. They did some tests and said she has a bladder infection, which I looked up, and is also called cystitis? I remember years ago, she had this, and was very very sick from it. But everything I read about it, says nothing about fever, vomiting, etc. Years ago, she developed a very high fever with it, and was in serious condition from it. But everything I read says when vomiting and fever happen, that it usually means kidney infection, They tested her tonight, so she does not seem to have a kidney infection. How then, did she get so sick from a bladder infection?
