How to treat optic atrophy by foot massage

Patients may have blurred vision or shadows in front of the eyes in the early stage though their eyes may appear completely normal Later, vision may become further and further impaired to complete blindness. Optic atrophy, papillitis, thrombosis of retinal artery, pigmentary degeneration of retina, and diseases of ocular fundus recognized by modem medicine may show the above symptoms.
   
Treatment:
Foot massage: The massage is applied to eye (8), kidney (22), adrenal gland (21), ureter (23), urinary bladder (24), head (brain, 1), brain stem and cerebellum (3), lymph nodes (upper body, 39), lymph nodes (abdomen, 40) and liver (18) reflecting areas for 30 minutes, once or twice a day (Fig.111).

Foot acupuncture:
1) Meridianal acupoints: At Zulinqi (GB41), Xingjian (LR2), Zhaohai (KI 6) and Zhiyin (BL 67) acupoints, a balanced reinforce-reducing acupuncture technique is applied and the needles are retained for 30 minutes. Moxibustion may also be applied.
   
2) Foot acupoints: At Head and face (FA-P 1), Liver (FA-P 9) and Kidney (FA-P 14) acupoints, a moderate acupuncture stimulation is applied and the needles are retained for 20 minutes.
